WEST BAY YACHT CLUB IS LOCATED in Greenwich Bay, a part of Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island, at Norton's Marina. Click here for a map of our location.
THE CLUBHOUSE is an attractive, comfortable place
to get out of the weather and is equipped with
a kitchen, dining and meeting area, a head and
shower, a video lounge, and library.
WEST BAY IS REGISTERED with the Yachting Club
of America. Your West Bay membership entitles
you to full reciprocity privileges at many other
yacht clubs across the country. Just show your
WBYC membership card.
WEST BAY OWNS and maintains a 500 pound mooring
in Dutch Harbor, available anytime for
the exclusive use of club members on a first-come
first-serve basis. Rafting of two or three boats
is permitted, with size and weather given due
consideration.

CLUB ACTIVITIES
CRUISING - Frequent
overnight and weekend cruises to various destinations
on and outside of the Bay, such as Newport, Jamestown,
Fall River, Potters Cove, Block Island and Cuttyhunk.
Also there is an annual two week cruise in July-August
to more distant locations.
RACING - West Bay sponsors
Summer and Fall Series PHRF racing on Monday evenings.
Series racing includes a number of classes for boats of all sizes and speeds for both spinnaker and non-spinnaker racers. The club also sponsors a number of weekend
long distance races.
SPECIAL EVENTS - Our May Breakfast kicks off
the boating season, then the New Members Party
followed by a August LAND/SEA Cruise, and the
ritual "firing up the grill" on Friday
and Saturday nights throughout the season. A January
Super Bowl Party, February Chowda Fest, St. Patrick's
Day Dinner, and the Annual Banquet in November
and Holiday Party / Yankee Swap fill out the dry
season calendar. Please refer to our Calendar of Events for upcoming club functions.
THE CLUB CONDUCTS seminars and mini-courses to provide
members opportunity to better their boating and
safety skills. Past offerings have included Red
Cross First Aid and CPR certificate training,
local sailmaker "Shape and Trim" seminar,
a self-study group for those wishing to take the
Coast Guard Captain's License test, and a celestial
navigation course.
